ISH 2013

Posted on March 24 2013, Bathroom Trends

We headed off to Frankfurt on Monday 11 March intending to spend the next day at ISH and then catch our flight back to the UK.  We awoke Tuesday morning to a few inches of snow and still falling … so off we headed to the exhibition.

We normally enter via the Pavilion so Hansgrohe is our first port of call, but we came in the main bathroom hall.  So we decided to be organised and go up and down the aisles to get a general impression of what was new and exciting in the bathroom industry in addition to concentrating on our suppliers.

First stop was Teuco showing among other things their Hydroline baths now available in acrylic.

You could see the invisible whirlpool working in all it’s glory ..

So quiet it’s just the gentle sound of bubbles.

X-Large re-interpreted

Duravit and siegler design re-vamped X-Large with plenty of extra storage and more minimalist.
Re-interpreted X-Large – little tweaks that take X-Large into the 21st Century with a more minimalist appearance and offers a wider choice of furniture.
Duravit Durastyle

A stunning new series from Duravit, Durastyle is a stylish, understated range designed by Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodgriquez.
Simple but unmistakeable, the distinctive ceramic edge extends through the entire range.

Burgbad showed ConceptWall which turns the wall into the key element of the bathroom design so the basin unit appears part of the wall giving a smooth and uniform appearance.  A combination of Sixties modernism and the minimalist look of the 21st century.

Burgbad ConceptWall

Turning the bathroom into living space was a major element of the Burgbad stand.  There was a strong support system  by Viego which was visible to show just how the system worked.   (Unfortunately my pictures of this are not good enough to show!  But they are on show on this blog page (scroll down to part 1).

There was a booth showing some Spanish tiles; Dune and Porcelaingres which caught our eye as we are a Dune dealer.

Part 2 to follow!
By now we had heard Frankfurt Airport was closed all day, and our flight had been cancelled, but we were booked on the last flight out that evening…
